What type do you like.

My favorite is La Piedad. Not fancy and more of an authentic mexican place. I think. better to go when the weather is nice and you can sit outside.

This place is supposed to be fantastic ... not sure where you are, but friends of mine say that people come here from Indianapolis and:

Jaripeo(sp?) on the eastside next to the Kroger by Washington Sq. They just moved from across the street to a new bldg -the food is authentic and really good -resonably priced.

One day we went to Alcapulcos in Greenwood and really did not enjoy it. Years ago the one downtown would have people standing in line to eat there so I just assumed it was good. When I got home I did some checking and found this web site. Now we use it when we want to try a place that is new to us. We just recently moved back to Indy. I think there are a lot of great Mexican restaurants here now.

Los Rancheros off 267 in Avon has great food & one of the best margaritas & salsas I've ever had.

My wife and I tried El Rodeo on Fox Road near Oaklandon and we were very disappointed in the cuisine there. Never again.

Bummer! Maybe they were having a bad night or the locations are different? I went to one of the places listed here by another poster, and I didn't like it at all, the meat was just plain hanburger with no spices in it, but each person has their own tastes, I suppose

That's OK if you don't like Los Rancheros- no biggie to me I never had their hamburger. My family, inlaws & neighborhood friends all love it. We went to El Rodeo in Avon & didn't really care for it either. Good thing there are several choices for people as everyone likes something different.
