But you cannot comment on the article.
Rumors are that they will be misdemeanor charges. If true, it sounds like it could be a miscarriage of justice. Criminal confinement is a felony in and of itself.

I heard the victim's lawyer on channel 8 news last night when he said his client told him coaches or somebody working with the coaches knew I got angry. If that is true & they didn't stop it and give the bullies punishment then the school is in deeper trouble than having to change a policy. This started with them bullying them in the locker room before the incident on the bus. If we can't trust teachers & school staff with our children what is next?

Amen-It really gripes me to think- you know some of those adults had an idea what was going on and did nothing except turn their heads the other way-that makes them just as bad as the thugs that did these things. How low can you go?

Since when do you need a flippin news conference to press charges against some idiots who sexually assault another student? This is unbelievable.

First off, I don't think there is anything "sexual" about these assaults. It sounds like typical bullying given the ethics and morals of today's high school generation. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the assailants were victims of similar incidents in the past. To me, it looks like they are trying to give the assailants a slap on the wrist with the misdemeanor charges. They should have been charged with criminal confinement as a C or B felony. C felony if the injury was minor, B felony if the injury was "serious." Going to the hospital sounds "serious" to me. The only way criminal confinement doesn't fit is if the victims just sat there and did nothing.

Sealing the charges is a joke also. Why they are so scared of the truth is beyond me. Media won't release the names of the victims, and those in the community already know, so what is the big deal?

What will happen is a plea agreement, likely some sort of diversion. The kids will get up and say NOTHING. No one will know what really happened. They only way this is justice is if the victims support the way in which this is being handled. Maybe the victims are scared of publicity, and they don't want BadJocks.com or The Smoking Gun to publish a PC affidavit with their names listed for the whole world to see. I really hope that is the case, and this isn't being done to protect the offenders and/or the image of Carmel.
