I appreciate all your help. I have nothing against Avon or Planfield...just exploring all our options as we're flying up next week to start looking at houses and wanted to look at all the areas you all suggested. We're definitely looking in Avon and Planfield but there didn't seem to be very many rentals.

We'd like a house (not apartment or townhouse) with preferably 4 bedrooms and no more than $1500/month rent with a nice yard for my children to play in.

If anyone knows of any rentals or of a way to find rentals in the area that would help us greatly as well. Every one has been so nice on here. Thank you. I think this move is going to be very good for our family...if we can just get over the stress of actually getting there! lol

Oh and I'm not to worried about the airplane noise. I grew up on an air force base and I'm pretty immune to the sound. Actually makes me sleep better hehe

Okay, how does Danville compare to these areas mentioned above in terms of safety? We are looking to be out in the country a bit more than Avon and Plainsfield and Danville has been suggested to us. It seems like a perfect fit as it is smaller but still close to shopping, resturants, etc. Thoughts?

consider Mooresville? Smaller, maybe less expensive?

I don't truthfully understand why folks on here are always recommending suburbs to people moving into town. Yes, they are great but so are areas located inside the city limits! We live on the northwest side in Washington Township and love it! My husband is super close to downtown, we have a beautiful older house with huge trees, a huge lot, great neighbors and yet we're only 5 minutes from downtown, with good schools too! We're also only 15 minutes from the airport. Also Ben Davis schools are good too and right next to the airport.
