HELLO - PLEASE HELP!

My Centex home is only 5 years old. I have water dripping in my living room near my front door. I called Centex, said they are not responsible, did not come out to the home to inspect, just said no longer covered on roof warranty. Called my Insurance Company, TRAVELERS, they said they are not responsible and that it is a Flashing issue, which they are not responsible for.... this does not seem right? Do I have any options to force one of them to pay for this FLASHING issue? Thanks for any help or advice.

Check your permits pulled on the house when it was built. Who did the roofing? Often roofing is subcontracted out. If you can document improper flashing you might go after the contactor's bond.

A roof should last 15-20 years in the "real world". If is improperly flashed its probably going to cost less than your homeowners deductible to get someone out to fix it out of your own pocket.

Make sure the contractor is licensed bonded and insured.. not a job for a handyman.

I would suggest getting up in your attic to see if your insulation got wet and if there is any mold. You may need to replace a little insulation too.

Its not worth trying to sue them unless a major issue has developed in the attic space.
