I thought they did. I do remember seeing a tax holiday; I don't remember if that was here, back in Can-tuggy, or up in Miiiiiiichigan.

For those interested............

This was driving me crazy so I did some research. Turns out I was thinking or Tennessee. I was in Nashville before my last semester of college, and that was the weekend of Tennessee's first sales tax holiday.

So there you go.

For the record, Michigan has considered this, but never enacted it. I find no indication that Indiana or Kentucky have ever given it thought.

They have that in Florida..

The one thing they don't have in Florida is: Book Rental

When I first moved here I would ask co-workers how much they had to pay for book rental for there kids and they looked at me like I was crazy and said what's that..

I know Indiana and (I think) Washington or Arizona were the only states who did that, but I believe more states have joined in.

Here in South Cackalaky we have a tax free weekend in August every year for school supplies, kids clothing and computer equipment.

Here are some other states who do this. Sales Tax Holidays

There is also a tax free weekend for gun purchases! Of course some people take exception to this. http://www.shootingillustrated.com/J.R.Absher/J.R.Absher-Nov25.html (broken link)

A little late to the game, but I was also going to say that TN has a tax holiday weekend. I was visiting family there a few years ago that weekend. If I recall correctly the state tax is 10%. Tax free weekend for guns is a new one for me.....
