My vote would go for either "broke" or overtaxed"

I think a native or resident of Indianapolis could be called an Indianapolisite. At least you can pronounce it without stumbling, and it flows good. Nap-towner is a good one too.

A native or resident of Muncie is known as a Munsonian. Also the name of the Muncie Central yearbook. (Somebody asked about what residents of other Indiana towns are called and specifically mentioned Muncie)

What do you call someone from Indy? Well, if they're Southsiders, then you call them "Morons". Otherwise, "Naptowner", "Indianapolites", "Indy-ites" works pretty well.

So, pointing out the truth is moronic huh? I want to ask you something--how long have you lived in Indy, and more specifically, how long have you lived on the Southside? I've lived on Indy's Southside for 33 years now-- FAR longer than you have, I'm certain.

You know what actually IS moronic? Being a shameless, card-carrying member of the City Data PC Brigade. Also, Pretending that all the no-class, trouble making, gangsta and biker thug wannabes that inhabit this side of town exist only in the minds of disgruntled Indy natives. You Indy cheerleaders, if you're not first-class salesman, you have most certainly missed your calling!

I've lived in Indy for a little over 18 years. I've never resided on the soutside, but I have worked briefly on the southside. I've found southsiders to generally be good, middle-class, salt-of-the-earth people. Not flashy. And, no, there aren't as many high-end neighborhoods on the southside, although there are many solid neighborhoods there. There isn't as much higher-end shopping and dining available either. But that doesn't make residents down there morons. A moron is someone who comes on here and makes general statements denigrating everyone who lives on a particular side of town.
