Hey Indy, where are the self-serve car washes? Do automatic car washes have the market cornered?
I found ONE self serve.. the kind with a wand... but it was a busted up piece of do-do.
They also had big signs that said NO bucket washing. WTF! How am I supposed to clean my car without a bucket. The wands don't do the job alone. It also cost
$2 just to get the wash going. In KC, which is where I relocated from, nobody cared if you used buckets. There were self-serve car washes everywhere. And most allowed you to start the wash with only .25 cents. For the record, I live on West 86th and I-465. Can you help me?

There's one on the southside behind Southern Plaza. US 31 and 465. I think that it's also $2 to get it started. I've used a bucket there before with no trouble.

Classic Touch Car Wash and Detailing has both an automatic wash as well as a few self serve spray bays. There's also one behind the 5/3 Bank between 79th and 86th - don't know the name, and then there's another one by ?Moller and 38th (by Best Buy) - again don't know the name. Think all of them are $2 to start up.

Some of the Mike's car washes have self-service bays, I don't think the one on 86th near Walmart does, but the one on Lafayette and Georgetown has a few bays. You can search for those locations on their website.

I relo'd from NY and it's the same there no bucket washing in the bays. I have one of those mits and the parts that i know the wand doesn't clean well I rub with the mit. You should be able to find them in any auto part store or even a walmart.
There's a Mikes Car wash with bays at 3345 W. 86th pretty close to Michigan Rd.
Get that mit .. it works.
