How do determine how much bandwidth I'm using? (RAM, Linux, monitor)

We have multiple PCs (some Linux, some Windows) which perform various tasks on the net including video, an XBox 360 which does a lot of video streaming via Netflix, and other devices which might occasionally use bandwidth (though the only one of any consequence is a ReplayTV which sometimes downloads videos from others).

Unfortunately, I can't really install third-party firmware on my router (Linksys WRT54G v8), but maybe getting an older one with more flash RAM is the answer. Not sure.

How else can I effectively monitor my LAN's bandwidth usage? Installing individual bits of software on various PCs covers those boxes, sure, but they don't do much for the main user (the XBox 360).

Any ideas?

Unless you can monitor all traffic, you can't especially with a mix of OS's, plus an Xbox. You really need a router that would support DD-WRT, which can track all traffic to the internet.

Yeah, those were my thoughts. I've found a couple of v3 WRT54G routers on the net for under $40, so that may be the route that I take. Heh.
