The biggest problem is the users. When they sign up for things like social network sites they believe that every field presented to them must be filled in. People LIKE filling out forms with info about themselves, I don't know why, but sometimes that keeps them from asking themselves "why do I need to tell you this?". Hahaha.

I guess the point is, if you publish it, then anyone can read it! If you don't want others reading what you post, then you shouldn't post it.

I LULZ every time I hear someone complain about Facebook posting people's phone numbers, gee you gave it to them to do that!??

I wouldn't even consider creating an account on FB or similar site. They don't give a damn about an individuals security or privacy, otherwise everything would be opt-in vs. opt-out.

These sites are going to bite so many people in that azz down the road.

In a moment of idleness, I was pondering today if personal information will become so ubiquitous that it will be rendered meaningless and valueless.
Of course, that would require the elimination of personal information from validity within the financial world. Take the profit out of it, and what does it matter if someone knows my entire list of passwords, routing numbers, CC numbers, SS number, etc?

People certainly seem to be evolving to devaluing their personal information at a rapid pace.
