^ I agree - CCleaner works really well. I've been using it for several years now. But it didn't keep IE from locking up. So I don't know what the problem was/is. The other day I discovered that I can use Flash with Opera, which surprised me because I thought IE was the only browser for which there was a 64-bit Flash plugin. Had I known differently sooner, I could have saved myself several months of aggravation.

still messed up-also itunes freezes my computer when i try to install it

Have you tried this suggestion? Or maybe a different browser, altogether -- Firefox or Opera.

Could be something else slowing things down. Have you run Malwarebytes? I recently had noticed my CPU usage was unusually high. I rand Malwarebytes and it was back to it's old self. I had obviously picked up a few bad guys.

No, actually I forgot about Malwarebytes. I used it all the time before I got the new system. Thanks for reminding me of it. The glitchiness has eased up some. It still does it BIG TIME when I go to Bing Maps. Not sure what it is with that site, but it locks up on me consistently, and not only on my laptop - does it on my desktop system, also.
