Just another in the endless reasons of why I do not have a Myspace or Facebook profile.

Sounds like a good way to set yourself up to never have to sit on a jury.

I've only served once, and it was an enjoyable experience, but I don't now how typical that is.

I'll bet similar reasons are why so many of us refrain from using them.

Facebook sounds like both a word and an idea that the novel "1984" would employ.

I think the DA is overlooking one very critical consideration. Many people lie on their facebook profile. In fact, a lot of people aren't even the same gender as they say they are on Facebook.

I presume it is also an indicator that people who do not have a Facebook profile are so out of touch with the mainstream of American culture, that they are disqualified from being constitutionally classified as a "peer", and therefore ineligible to sit on a "jury of your peers".

That allows the DA to screen, or at least pre-screen jurors without the purview of the judge or the defendants lawyers, allowing prejudices to go unchallenged.

Many companies now look at Facebook pages of their employees or possible hires and base decisions on what they see.

Pffft.. gender.. how about weight/height/color of hair/bad breath/stinky feet.... sheesh

I'd like to see official figures from reputable sources on how many people lie about their profiles.... Seems sorta impossible to me, how would they check? Face to face meeting? Send the person an email asking them if they lied on their profile?

So just because one doesn't have a profile on Facebook the person is out of touch???? Just what constitutes the mainstream of American culture? Facebook? Twitter? ICQ?
Liberals? Conservatives? Sheeple? Tree huggers?

April 20th, 2004....FBI agent (armed with several approving sigs) initiates inquisition to posts supposedly made by....me. Place: Elite Fitness chat board

I didn't take it seriously. For one thing, agents had previously had fun posing as me and posting as me...on a different board. Had to be agents because they knew where I had been and what I had been doing.

April 20, 2005...fractured hip courtesy of ex-SS agent (wing of FBI)

You don't know WHO is looking at your profile and what their intent is. What if a hacker goes in and says you do drugs and deal in stolen goods?

Bad enough that cops can plant stuff in our cars or houses. It is ridiculously easy for a hacker to plant stuff on the internet.

Is anyone that uses FB really dumb enough to not customize their privacy settings....wait, dont answer that.
What I really want to know is what the DA meant by "refining" their FB usage.
