Hey Folks,
I'm a technical dummy and have a couple of questions for anyone who is merciful. There are a number of common site apps (Yahoo, CNN, Realtor, etc.) I've downloaded for my IPad which seen to have really slowed it down when I use them. My totally uninformed hunch is it's because the applets have way more video/graphics than the standard sites.

Q1 -am I correct and if so, is there any way I can set the IPad up to only download text? I really don't care about the video or graphic content in most cases and simply want the information quickly. I assume I need to dump the applets and go back to the standard sites.

Q2 - same issue applies to my Mac, can I screen out the video/graphics routinely and only get graphics when I choose to?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think you can set your browser to not download images - at least you used to be able to do that in IE and maybe Netscape. Check your browser settings. In Firefox under Options, Content, there's a box "Load Images Automatically", maybe uncheck that. Also, in Firefox I use a add in called "Ad Block Plus" which prevents ads from being loaded on a web page - that has to save downloading data.
