The main site is where you access other content, archive.org.

The way back machine is on sub domain and really a small part of that site, you have to go to main page for the other content:

Internet Archive: Digital Library of Free Books, Movies, Music & Wayback Machine

You can get a copy of "reefer madness" and other films produced by the government. There is concerts where the band has set them in the public domain. Lot of Grateful Dead shows. I think Phish another band that encouraged taping of their shows is on there too.

If you do lot of video editing professionally it's great source especially for documentary type videos.

I can't find how to access newsgroups and bbs archives. It appears to be archiving only things accessible through the web and not the entire internet. Along with select media types, such as video, audio, books.

I would love to revisit some non-web content from even 5 to 10 years ago.

Yea... my original question is why they called it "Internet Archive" when they only cover the web and leave out majority of the internet. It's misleading.

Google has some stuff archived... not everything.
