Default What does this mean ? E-mail question

I signed into my yahoo mail account for the first time in about a week, and one of my messages was

Failure Notice

From:"MAILER-DAEMON@nm18.bullet.mail.ne1.yahoo.com" <MAILER-DAEMON@nm18.bullet.mail.ne1.yahoo.com>

Add to Contacts
It listed about a third of my contacts saying they did not receive my message. I did not send a message. Does this mean I have a virus sending porn or spamming all my contacts ?

I don't use this account any more so I deleted all the contacts so if it is spaming will that stop it ?

Your email account has either been compromised (hacked) or it is being spoofed. Since they are using your contacts it may be hacked. Change your password to a highly secure password.

Yahoo and hotmail accounts have been being hacked a lot lately and used to send spam to the contacts in the accounts. One way to prevent this is to make a copy of all of your contacts and save them as a document file on your computer and then delete all of them from your yahoo account. Then when you need one just open the document, find the one you need and copy/paste it to the email.

Thank you for the response. I have deleted all of my contacts, I just signed up for this seal that is some how supposed to protect my yahoo account, and changed my password.

Should I be worried about my banking info ? They made me sign up for one of those picture/seal a while back.

Used to, when I ran CCleaner, the seal would disappear and I'd have to recreate it. Now it works in spite of CCleaner.
