She's misinformed, not that familiar with Outlook but as far as I can tell this only works on local server, e.g. office email. When she sends an email to someone outside of the office the outgoing server tries to deliver to the domain, usually almost instantly. Once it's delivered to the other server it can't be "retracted" unless this feature might work with Microsoft Live where it's deleted on the client end?

AOl mail has this function IF sent to another AOL address and it's done before it's been read.
Rather limited but I have used it.

Def. The AOL one is good. I've used it in the mid 90s. It works like a charm. It had purpose back then since almost everyone used AOL. Those days are gone. I secretly miss those days.
