You understand what I'm saying about the https? This has nothing to do with submitting the data over a secure connection but the page being hijacked in transit before it gets to the end user in which case it could be altered so it does submit data.
I think he was being sarcastic...

I understand SSL/TSL encryption fine, where data is encrypted/decrypted, and weaknesses such as proxy servers issuing certificates in place of the destination server.

You are the one that said you wouldn't trust it because it wasn't https, which seems to say you would were it https.

One also has to have confidence in the site you are connecting to..........

It should be clear in my original post I was discussing how it could be exploited by a third party because it isn't https, I wouldn't trust this as a tool to teach people about phishing attacks because of that and the other reasons I've outlined. You may have good intentions and the author may have good intentions but the potential exists it could be turned against the user.
