The ACLU has a quiz that should be taken by anyone who's ever sent an email or used a cell phone.

Why?

* With each passing day, we're leaving a trail of more and more personal data. Take cell phones, for example—90% of Americans carry one, each of which can be used as a tracking device.
* At the same time, the government's appetite for our electronic information is out-of-control. The National Security Agency is intercepting 1.7 billion emails, phone calls and other communications per day.

The combination of rapidly-advancing technology and ever-expanding government surveillance could be putting your private information at risk.

BS.

It says I'm more recognizable than Jackie O.

I can go to Google and Google myself. I enter my name and city and state and there is nothing about me.

Those places that claim to have my info? They, at most, know my name and city. I've checked.

AS usual the ACLU is using scare tactics.

I suggest you cancel your internet subscription, destroy your PC, destroy your phone and go live on an island by yourself. That's your ticket to being truly off the radar.

Agree with Tek - total BS. FWIW, I had to temporarily allow javascript to even take the test.

You are in danger of having your information at risk only if you allow it.

Anything I put on the Internet, including here, I don't care about. If it is important enough for someone to collect, well it's their drive space that 's being wasted holding useless information.

More power to them.

hah
Good point.

The internet privacy issue is interesting because it does not appear to be generational. No matter what their age, some people are very concerned about it, others not so much.
Zuckerberg wants no privacy on the internet; I'd like at least a *little* bit, and have tried to make sure that what stuff I have out there is inconsequential.

btw
Apparently I'm harder to spot than Waldo.

Dude, you do know your provider knows every site you have ever been to and what you posted there? They inform the government too, regardless of what anyone says.
Do you have any bank accounts?
Do you only accept cash for payment for your services?
Do you ever go into any open to the public store?
If I remember right you do not have a drivers license.
I guess you do not EVER take public transportation.
You walk everywhere? Hey, next time you are walking to who knows where look up at the buildings ... OH Shyte, they are tracking you.
You are being tracked by the government satellites too.

I seen Jackie O at the laundromat. So I did, at 1:00 in the morning.
She was folding Elvis's underbritches. Nice and neat.

Izzat you, Elvis?
