I am going to be moving in a few months and I'm very sad to find out that VZN FIOS isn't offered where we're thinking of moving

We've read that RR is as close to FIOS as I can get.

Has anyone used them? How do you like them? I've heard some news on data caps....but they were not implemented due to negative press?

I'm thinking of getting the 30/5 package.

Have been using RR for years, it's OK, no caps (yet). Best of my knowledge they are still in test stage.

I pay around $40 a month...

I have their basic service, and don't forget your area, time-of-day etc. might see different results:

Speedtest.net

D/L - 15.2Mbps
U/L - 0.48Mbps
Ping - 23ms

Pingtest.net

Ping - 34ms
Jitter - 6ms
Packet Loss - 0%

How far away are your servers? The whole "time of day" thing is what scares me. With what I have now, it's always exactly the same, day or night, no matter what.

TWC 30/5
Supposed to be $79.95/month, but we have Digital Tier package, and pay about $120, IIRC.

I get what I blame as a "time of day" hiccup now and then, but I don't see a real hassle there.
If you go Signature Service, 50/5, I think they are confirming continuous bandwidth, if they can do such a thing.

I like the package we have, and I upload video and large photos.

Very helpful, thanks Mike. Does RR require a contract? 1 year or 2?

If anyone else has it please post, I'm trying to do as much cross-reference as I can.

We had a two year price protection agreement, and when we upgraded to "Extreme," they told me to stay within the agreement since it was better than the discount they could offer me otherwise.
