Hi,

Wondering if anyone on here uses this product for their anti-virus. I've been using it without problem and now it keeps saying I am without protection or what I have is old. I updated it but it still says this.

Is this their way of trying to get me to buy their upgraded product? It has never done that before. I normally update it and that is that.

Thanks,

RObyn

Is there a newer free version available? It might be prompting you because they have released a new free version and they want you to upgrade to that.

AVG Free does seem to be a little buggy lately.
I used to recommend AVG. I don't anymore.
It's either:
-MSE as Mike said. A good product.
or
- The new darling of the "geek set": Comodo.
Antivirus Software - Download our Free Antivirus Software | Comodo

X3 on MSE, one of the best freebie AV apps available. I stopped recommending AVG a couple years ago due to various issues.

I use avg free and I get a notification once in a while that tells me I'm unprotected, it's just an ad for the pay version of their internet security suite.

AVG is trash. You get what you pay for and you pay nothing for AVG.

Use something...like Kaspersky or Trend Micro.

Most programs suggest uninstalling any other AV programs.

I have 3 installed, only one running, the others on demand. This has never caused any problems that I can see.
If they are turned off and not running, is this necessary?

I can get behind you on Kaspersky, but Trend Micro?
