Update..just went in and changed it to 644 and you can't see the site. I think 644 is too low. Right now I have it on 755...but surely there is something lower where the site will still show up on the internets?

If your installation is up to date it might have been on the hosting companies end which is also common. Often they get through an exploit on the server and that can effect everyone on the same machine.

People are mean and uncaring.... I would do a DATABASE RESTORE and see if you can get it back (THEN CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD STRAIGHT AWAY!!)
