Which browers are good and lightweight enough for a 256mb RAM memory computer?

Popular browers like Firefox, IE, Chrome, Opera, Safari etc. are to heavy?

What OS. Windows, Linux? Assuming Windows as you mentioned IE, XP just by itself will run poorly on 256MB.

It says it'll run Firefox.

I used to browse the web on a Mac Powerbook Duo 230 with a whopping 4MB of memory. I had the "RAM Doubler" utility (poor-man's virtual memory) that made 8MB available to the system.

The browser I used was Netscape Navigator 1.0. This was about 16 years ago.
