I need Turbo Tax for investors. But, want to talk to someone before I have to buy cuz want best deal & want to know if the software will download my investment account directly from my online financial account?? Want to TALK to a warm body before I make the buy.

Why can't we TALK to anyone anymore? The guys at Best Buy surely won't know.

Help???? Tried their 'free live advice' but they wanted me to buy first. Willing to buy, but want to make sure they can do what I need. Any answers from all you smart, young folk out there???

I am no expert regarding TT, but I will say that I had a little different situation with my taxes this year and it led me to the version I needed. I started with the free version, and was told I had to use a particular version. You don't pay until the end, so I don't think you are going to be locked in if you try another version.

If you are a USAA member, you can go to your online acct, search for TT and go in that way and get a discount. I imagine that AAA or larger banks, and brokerage companies also offer discounts if you go in through their sites.

TT has horrible customer service but has a good product. A few years ago, I was downloading to use the day before Taxes are due (I always file an extension) it wouldnt run or load. I called customer service and got canned suggestion that didnt work.....Its the best of the tax products I've used but customer service was a joke then. I am not familiar with the investor version what more does it do download transactions to save you from putting a ton of those in by hand or more?

I used TT premier this year. It should be good enough for investments and such. I dont know about importing your info. that may be too much to ask for?. You may have to enter it.. In any case here are the different versions available.

Download it, pay for it, try it. If it doesn't satisfy your needs then talk to a warm body and tell them you want your money back. Before doing so, have a warm online chat with an online Rep and ask if you can do that. Copy the chat text and save it for future reference. If problems arise, just use that chat text for support.

I bought my 2011 Premier edition on Ebay for under $50.00. It was good only for the 2011 returns.
My broker uploaded all the data and it was as simple as printing and signing.
I had good luck with customer service.
Their 2012 version should be out soon. I glanced on Staples to check out prices and I was surprised that they are still selling the 2011 Premier for $89.99 here in November. I know people file their taxes late, but $89.99 is a little high. I may go back to Ebay for my new version.
