I am getting MULTIPLE messages of FB unavailability, depnding on which Browser I use.
With Chrome I am getting: "Account Temporarily Unavailable.
Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes."

With Safari I get: "Facebook Will Be Back Soon
Facebook is down for required maintenance right now, but you should be able to get back on within a few minutes. In the meantime, read more about why you're seeing this message. Thanks for your patience as we improve the site."

And when I use my phone, I can SEE posts by others, but am unable to post anything.

And it has now been 4 HOURS - not MINUTES as FB's message says.

There is a site to report outages, and it says FB is NOT DOWN.

What's Up?

I was just able to post a comment on a FB thread, but it posted it EIGHT TIMES! Then I couldn't get on again - but my next door neighbor is on OK.

Yes, Facebook was down. Did you freaked out and called the... police??
Facebook Down: People Call Police in Los Angeles - TIME

... but here is a good news:

Who knows, maybe this was ANOTHER FB experiment, checking on people's behavior

NO - that was not the issue. I was able to access FB on Friday when they supposedly had the outage.
And that's not the message I get. If people try to see my profile, they also get a message saying that there is either a broken link or the account is no longer active.

EXACTLY - and when I go to that link, it says Facebook is UP!

I have no idea who to contact about this - I can't get to FB Help because they want me to sign in, which I cannot do - get the messages I first posted.

Didn't thoroughly read the post, just the subject. Sorry 'bout that.

Sounds like they may have disabled your account. They have a program that scans account activity, and if it doesn't conform to what they consider to be "normal" use, they'll deactivate it to thwart potential spammers, scammers, etc. This happened to our youngest a couple of times because he doesn't really use the account. He had a heck of a time getting a hold of anyone at FB (not sure that he actually ever did), so don't count on any "support" they have being able to help you.

I would first create a new account and see if it's similarly limited. That would at least help determine whether it's strictly a FB/account issue, or if there's something in your environment that's causing the problem.

Not my environment - had someone a couple of hundred miles away try to log on with same results.

Maybe I played too much Words With Friends? :-)

I had just used Facebook to locate the owner of a lost dog - several hundred people ended up sharing my photo of the dog, and the owner was found in only a few hours. I can't imagine that could have anything to do with it. SOmething's broken at FB, and it is impossible to let them know. :-(

However, downrightnow.com IS now showing FB troubles presently.
