Quater mile wireless bridge, 2.4 or 5 GHz? (wifi, bluetooth, work, USB)

There is direct line of sight, but the area is moderately urban. I've checked the available bands and 2.4GHz is saturated and 5 GHz has like one access point. I've seen some good POE directional outdoor models that would work nice and even found one that transmits in 5 GHz. What is your take on directional wireless bridges?

Range will be shorter at 5ghz. Either way, if it's an urban area, you're probably screwed if you want a reliable connection. Look into bridging with point-to-point fixed wireless. There are even bluetooth solutions you could look into if you don't need high speed.

ETA: I just reread your post and realized that you were asking about what I suggested. LOL. That'll teach me to read the OPs better. I thought you were looking to connect regular consumer grade stuff.

As swagger indicated, 5 GHz has a shorter range than 2.4 . however 2.4 is congested and the chances of you interfering with all the channels over a quarter mile in a populated area is high. Of its not heavily populated, shouldn't be an issue.

These are the products that had me question the range issue. Seems both frequency specific products have the same range. Only difference is narrower beam on the 5GHz, which I like. I'd even prefer laser over air as my concern is blasting a dense area with my access point.
