Evidently someone made an account with my email address and I keep getting messages that I have "invites" or some such thing.

I didn't make an account, I don't like facebook, never did, never used it. I tried using the facebook help of "file report" but it doesn't work.

Any suggestions? There doesn't seem to be any way to contact facebook.

It's spam, mark it as such so it goes directly to junk mail.

Ok but I tried to see if there was an account so I went to the login page and put in my email. It then asked me for a password and I put in I forgot my password. It then sent me a reset my password to my email.

How could I reset a password if I didn't have an account?

Then I tried to get through to facebook with the "help" section on how to deal with not having an account but having an issue. It would not go through.

Interesting. AFAIK you can't have an account unless you set one up, it requires that you reply to a confirmation email to verify that you're the email owner.

How to delete a Facebook account. I certainly can't guarantee it will work, fb says it will.

This is what happens...

When I try to reset the password to the account I don't have I get an email saying, "Somebody requested a new password for your FB account." Then it goes on to asking me the "secret questions" to make sure I'm who I say I am and I have no idea what those secret questions are because I don't have a FB account.

I cannot delete an account I cannot get into. I also cannot get the "form" that is required to try and get assistance with this through facebook.

Ok, but what about the fact that someone used my email to make an account?

Change your email password, just to be safe, then add a filter to your email program to auto-delete anything from facebook, then move on.

Don't worry about someone putting in your email - it was probably an accident of some sort. My ISP email address (which I only use for emails my ISP sends me) occasionally receives an email intended for someone on the other side of the country. Usually it's an order confirmation from a big box store or similar. I've confirmed that the orders and emails are genuine. I figure this guy puts ".net" instead of ".com" or some similar error when signing up on websites. No biggie - I just delete them.
