The new TV commercials from Comcast are a real jazz. The ad starts with the statements that :

"we are for..." and they list several ideas and things like net neutrality.

It closes with saying that you'd be surprised or something like that, they the "we" is Comcast, the only ISP legally bound by net neutrality laws.

Nice. Notice the last statement, "legally bound". Now why would only Comcast be legally bound by anything? How about because they got caught violating those laws, got fined and had a decision ruled against them and now are forced to follow the law?

None of that is correct. Comcast is legally bound to follow the net neutrality rules in effect as of 2010 as a condition of their purchase of NBC Universal. Comcast has to follow them until 2018, though most of the 2010 rules have been struck down by various courts.

Comcast and other ISPs are all for net neutrality generally. What they aren't for and do not want is Internet service being classified as a utility and subject to common carrier regulations.
