Part of the reason I'm considering moving out of North Carolina is to have access to this kind of bandwidth. As a person who works from home and plays on-line video games pretty seriously this kind of access makes me salivate.

This is pretty typical for me:

Another thing I like is that TWC is saying they will update me to 200/20 with the MAXX upgrade this spring.
Of course, I am shopping for a modem.

My new TWC service:

I would still very much prefer FIOS. Latency and reliability are so good.

@Adyn: I'm impressed with your download capacity but your upload seems too low at just 5 Mb/s.

What attracts me to FiOS is that it's more symmetrical. That's important to me as I like to upload videos and photos.

The only reason the download is so high is because it was 5 dollars more for the 50/5 plan. 5 is the highest they have, and UVERSE only allows for 3mb/s up. If I had it my way, I'd have 300/300 from FIOS, but as I said, not available where I am at the moment.

I've been a TWC cable/internet subscriber since about 2001. Currently no cable but Internet is 15mb down, constant streaming, no caps, single user. I'm not a gamer so I don't really need the big pipe. With my 15mb I'm able to stream Netflix and YouTube at the same time... for multi-tasking. $40/month.

No problems on any day (excepting the rolling black outs during the Texas big state wide freeze a few years ago). ON that day, only a dish would have been better.

Your decision is - simply - a value judgement. Are you getting what you need, and are you paying the right price?

My internet doesn't have caps and I haven't yet reached mine

you'll love the maxx service once you get it up and running. it is awesome I can DL a 40 gig file in under 5 mins vs it being an all night project. though I wonder what will happen if comcrap takes over and there 300 gig limit wich is not feasible in todays world for most. I am a hardcore gamer so I need speed!! but you can have trillions of gigabytes per second and your still gated by the web page!! and heres a little fact. in major hubs like boston los angeles the wire wich is called the TRUNK wich is the major backbone of the internet can transfer 650 DVD'S per second!!

I have the TWC MAXX service in LA. I consistently get 200/20. I moved to an area of LA that was serviced by ATT Uverse and not FIOS do I was forced to switch. The TWC speeds are amazing.
