Hi,
so, i'm connecting wirelessly throughout the house....router is on the main floor. computer is upstairs. I currently have 25/25mbps.

at around 4 pm each day when i get home, i run a speedtest and both my phone and the computer show speeds of around 22/25 mbps. around 8-11pm, that speed drops to 6/25 mbps!

is this normal due to the heavy traffic around those times?

ps. even my wired connection is around 9/25 around those times!!!

Maybe a problem with your modem, or could be an issue with verizon's side......only thing to do is call them and ask them to run their tests.

Verizon, a month ago gave us all (verizon fios users) upload speeds that are equal to our download speeds and they did it for free.

Saying that, I am at the next to highest top tier for speed (300/300Mbps) and it clocks at that speed and a little over when I run an independent speed test.

I can download or upload a two hour video in 40 seconds.

The next tier is 500/500 Mbps and cuts that 40 second download time to 24 seconds. 8)

Verizon's speeds are what they say they are .. for me at least.
(My neighbor has that 500/500 tier)

Maybe interference from an appliance?
