FB has allowed me to 'reconnect' with former crewmen I knew on each of the subs I used to be stationed on. As well as my highschool classmates, and two former girlfriends. I have cousins that are scattered across the country, most of whom are on FB. I have nieces and nephews on FB, that I would not have any contact with if FB did not exist.
Of course fads will come and go.
Nobody likes the guy that posts too much junk.
All in all, I like that FB exists.
I don't like the people who think they are qualified to be philosophers on life and feel the need to share it on their wall.
Problem is, more and more sites are using FB as a forum-host. I make forum posts via FB, then check my FB activity-log, poof, posts are gone. It just makes it so easy for commie-websites to ban you or deep-six all/most of your posts, even if they are not inappropriate.
Because for every younger person that leaves FB for something else, 2 older people take his/her place.
