Advertisements

And I've never seen an 8 minute ad on YouTube.
If I DID I would exit YouTube.

Other video sites:
Yahoo
Bing
Vimeo...

But of course Google should host exabytes of data and give it away for free.

I run Safari 8.0.6 on my Mac. I have installed AdBlockPlus and Ghostery, and have set my Safari preferences to "block pop-ups." I also use StartPage exclusively as my search engine. I almost NEVER see ads.

Sometimes it is, yes. But I don't block ads for that reason. I block them because the ad networks can't get a handle on their security so they are routinely used for malware distribution, which makes it a security issue.

Thanks, Mr Chickpea, it works great, annoying ads that had seemed to take over, are no more.

You're welcome. You might want to toss the developer a buck or two to keep the updates coming.

As for "you get what you pay for" - that is so last century. My customers don't seem to want to pay for anything, my tenant is past due on the lease, a webhosting company that I tried to tell to take a hike is trying to ding my credit card for services not rendered and the last politician I tried to pay off snubbed me.

Take 30 seconds to install Ad Block Plus. No more ads.

I've been using it for years, and lead an ad-free life online. Problems solved.

PS: It is not bloatware or an invasive program. Once you install it, you forget about it.

Dude111, why do you keep yelling? The first thing I do is scroll right past your posts because it's annoying as hell.

My guess is his 1/exclamation point key stopped working as he usually uses at least 5 or 6 of those...
