Has anyone used the new Firefox (v3) beta yet? If so, please share your opinions as I am considering installing it on my linux distro then maybe my win box.
I have not installed it. But thanks for reminding me. I have heard they fixed the memory leaks.
Yeah, that is one of the things I was reading about it. They stated that a good number of the extensions and plug ins were not yet supported but I suspect this will be taken care of soon and most of the ones already addressed are ones I use often like right click IE, Fasterfox, ad-block, and dictionary.
I did get it downloaded on my linux box but am having trouble getting it installed as I am still learning the ropes of the Ubuntu disto.
I heard its good, but unless you are ready to deal with lots of issues I wouldnt bother. Its a Beta which means there are guarenteed problems. You should check to see if you can install it alongisde teh current version.
I'll go along with BrianH and stay away from Beta Versions of any software on any operating systems. It's best to wait until the official full release of the FireFox version you want to install.
Oh yes MM- do not mess around with beta versions of anything- strange and undesirable events may happen. I use FF- the latest version released and love it- its just less 'heavy' then MS Windows Explorer to me-
Well I am running on my LInux system now as I finally got it installed. I didn't have many extensions or plug ins, and I have my older version backed up just in case. So far, there isn't a great deal of difference other than it seems a wee bit faster but that could just be my current connect.
