All of a sudden the city-data favicons in my bookmarks disappeared tis morning and now are a Q. (I'm using IE 11). I ran Faviconizer, but that didn't restore them. So, curious if it's a city-data thing or a problem on my end. Anyone else lose the city-data favicons?

On your bookmarks list it's the tiny icon next to the bookmark. It's also the tiny icon next to the URL in the browser bar at the top of the screen.

Oh. It's working on Firefox. I have some sites that have no icon, but my City-data bookmark has the icon next to it.

Ok - thank you! That tells me it's not city-data, and it's either an IE issue OR a problem on my end.

That file is always located in the root of the domain.

As you guessed it's something on your end.

This is the favicon I see in my bookmarks list and is also what pops up if I click on the URL link thecoalman gave ...

I cannot imagine what the heck my computer is doing. BUT this is so minor, this wrong favicon, unless it's an indicator that my computer is showing the first symptoms of illness. Great.

I usually have favicons disabled in my browser as they are BIGGER than standard size and my firewall flags it as "suspicious" and blocks my access to the site....... (Yes I could add an exception but why should I have to?? -- Im glad I can disable favicons in MyIE2)

Edit:

The city-data one just got flagged when I clicked that link above to see it.... ITS BIGGER THAN IT SHOULD BE...... (I had to take the sites IP out of my firewalls rules (It had city-data blocked))

Edit2:

The favicon they had in 2006 does not get flagged by my firewall (Its much smaller)

I can goto that one over and over and its not blocked.........

The new icon makes me wonder if someone is also a QI fan. (British tv show)
