Hi I am considering going to Roku. I'm sick of the cable companies and there greedy dealings!
I don't have a lot of computer skills but I know enough to get by, I am with TWC and have been
with them for about 4 or 5months . I have to stay with them for a year to stick to our contract.
I'd like to just keep the internet (only) without any bundle and go with either the Roku 3 or the stick.
I'm trying to find out which would be best and the cheapest way to go. I'm on a very limited budget and trying to cut-out a little extra $ I've read that I may have to invest in a router or antenna ( I'm totally confused) PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME...PLEASE

If you can, just buy internet service from your cable company. Then, get a Wi-Fi router and buy Roku or maybe invest in Amazin Prime and get a Firestick. That should get you a lot of free media.

Thank you John,
I went on ebay and found a netgear smart wifi dual band Gigabit router($63.99. I also found a refurbished roku stick($29.95) both free/s/h... how many gb of internet speed will I need? I think the package I have now has the Turbo
speed 20/2 mbps 5gb per space. And I'm pretty sure the're going to try and tell me that I will have to pay for the same internet that comes with this package! This will end up costing A LOT of $$! And I thought you had to get Netflix or Hulu Plus?
I like Netflix and I like Amazon Prime Prime seems to have a lot more to offer, but I've heard that Netflix has really made some great advancements. And can't you get some free stations like the history channel, PBS children's network ect...

Prime's video selection sucks. I have Prime and it is useless for movies. Once in awhile they will have something interesting, but I've never seen anything on on Prime that isn't on Netflix.

Free 2 day shipping though, so...

I don't trust them twice I signed up for there "free trials" and they charged me the full $100.00 on the second week of watching, and they didn't really have anything very new to watch. I called them after looking for the're customer service number foe like an hour. They said they would refund my money, but still kept the $8.00 anyway!! I was totally pissed..lol

OP, for future reference you might want to do a search before you post, this topic has been covered many times. A search for roku and streaming will yield much information.
