I posted about this on the actual Wordpress Forums, but got no responses. Figured you fine folks may be able to help out

I'm in the process of re-launching my website and looking for recommendations for a premium theme to use.

Basically the gist of the site is that it is an entertainment/sports website with weekly updates. Usually four updates all at once a wweek then sometimes more updates throughout the week depending.

What I was originally thinking was for a front page that would have the title of the site then the menu below it laid out horizontally. Then a space for four article previews, which would have pictures. The pictures would be a little longer vertically than horizontally. If this sounds confusing, basically what I would want is something like how the Cracked.com website used to look (before the overhaul). Also, I was looking for one where I could have at least one of the four previews be for featured content, which would stay there for a while rather than get moved down after a new update.

I've been going through the premium themes a bit and nothing quite matches up yet so I'm looking for suggestions. I like the Patch Theme, but it is very different from my original intention. I would definitely be willing to shell out the $175 for one of the top tier premium themes, but when I preview them they don't look good. I'm guessing I would have to tailor my current content more to them, but if I go that route I want to make sure I go with the right top tier premium theme.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Not sure about that specific look, but I've been very happy with several themes I purchased from WooThemes over the years.

Any in particular that you were happy with?

I own several (Postcard, Object, and Optimize), but I don't think any of them are actually for sale at this point (they retire them after a couple of years to keep their offering fresh).

That said, they base all of their themes on the same framework, and all of them have been updated continuously since I purchased them several years ago.

I know what you mean, something like this: Flex Mag - Responsive WordPress News Theme Preview - ThemeForest

Search for magazine style themes, that should help. As for having a "featured article" stay at the top, I think you could do that by "Pinning" or "Sticky" it. Not sure which themes have that option though.
