I recently moved outside of Wiggins, CO in Morgan County. Internet service SUCKS in the country, but I'm trying to deal. I had Excede which was bad enough, but when the contract expired they halved me to 15G and jacked the price to $160 a month.

A few days ago. I got HughesNet, but None of our phones work now. I LITERALLY CAN'T CALL Hughes or vonage, or ANYONE because my Upload speed that was suppose to be around 2Mb is actually about .6Mb on average./They won't send anyone to fix it until the 7th. I NEED my phones to work.

Does ANYONE have ANY ADVICE on how to solve this problem? Anything at all?

The better Internet provider for the area? A better Cell phone Provider for the area? Anything?

I dumped Hughesnet long ago. Yeah, they advertise "up to" speeds and won't do squat to fix it. Dump 'em and go back with Exede. The base plan from them (10 gig /mo cap and free zone between midnight and five am) costs $60, their VOIP phone service is around $30/ but doesn't count towards the gig cap. Good luck on cell phones in the sticks.

Snardley - you mentioned Verizon in your thread's title ... how do they figure into the nightmare? No Verizon coverage?
