They would know very shortly that you didn't have what you told them you had.

They ask for serial number or MAC ID. It won't work. Sorry.

I just read an article last night that Comcast is rolling out DocSIS 3.1 in Philadelphia, the first provider to roll out 3.1 compatibility. Hope you got a 3.1! Faster speeds then 3.0.

Assuming your ISP and wallet can handle the faster speeds. I was originally paying Comcast for 25/5, recently got the "free" upgrade to 75/5 which is more than I need. I suspect a price increase is following closely behind.

Well to be frank DocSIS 2.0 is plenty fast for me!!!! (And I probably dont get much faster than that anyway))

Why do people want the fastest speeds possible???? Its insane..... I usually only get about 5 Megs MAX down and thats plenty!!

EDIT:

I just took a speedtest and Im getting 3.051 Megs down right now.. 1.907 up (Nice and fast)

I used to have the 75/5 but got spoiled by work where we have 1000/1000 (which is impressively measurable at Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test). I shelled out the extra $3/month for the 150/15. Now it's at least as fast as 4g on my phone.

Because we like new technology. This is something you will never understand. It's not JUST speed but the way the packets are handled. So let's say you are playing for 15MB download speed. Your 2.0 modem will probably still test out at 15 doing a speed test. As it will on a 3.0. But the way the bandwidth is optimized, webpages and videos will still open and run faster on the 3.0.

I'm really surprised you aren't still using a 56K modem to be completely honest.
