Help! I am living temporarily at a hotel and need to connect to the internet via a secure connection. The WiFi here is a public network. I need to log on to my job but cannot do so on a public network. Anyone have suggestions on how to do this?

You need to talk to your IT dept. If they're blocking you, you need to use a VPN that they provide. Otherwise, it's still "public".

In other words, you need to establish an end-to-end connection that is encrypted. You can't really do that unless both sides are working together on this.
