I have a very old modem, and Comcast sent me a link to this page telling me these are the ones to choose from. I will be buying this, not renting from Comcast.

I use Netflix and HBO Go- no video games.

I would prefer a less expensive one, but one that is still decent- so not bottom of the barrel cheap.

The Surfboard SB6183 is my choice, assuming you don't use Comcasts phone service. Quality modem that won't break the bank.
