On Facebook feed a section pops up called People You May Know. I've noticed a couple of people who are acquaintances come up but gone the next time the section comes up. I've never looked at their profiles but they've shown up after recently running into them. It possible they were looking at my profile and that's why FB put them in this section?

Don't know, but I do know I like forums and blogs and don't want to see them die. I also would love a much smaller social network just for family only.

Hi gz, I think the algorithms of Facebook decide what to show you, even 'people you may know'. My guess is -- it has nothing to do with what others click. I think much of what you're shown is based on nodes, which are part of algorithms.

It's totally based on algorithm's.

Facebook sees that you are friends with 2 people who went to OSU. Hey, here's someone that also went to OSU and is from your hometown. Maybe you know them?
