I have a Android cell phone with unlimited data. It is quite fast and I can watch youtube with no issue. Can I use it to get internet for my daughter's tablet or my laptop? If yes, how can I set it up?

Thanks,

Call your provider and ask them to add on the hotspot feature.

these days most fones are fairly easy to root and bypass that restriction and most carriers no longer care.

Verizon will not let Unlimited Data customers use Hotspots for free, I promise you that.

That's interesting. I guess you're talking about those who were grandfathered in?

Yep ... we have three grandfathered unlimited lines, and have to pay $30 per line for tethering / hotspot.

Ah man, that sucks! Verizon must have made a deal with the devil (the cable company).

Most carriers do not allow you to use your phone as a hotspot without adding it to your plan. It is bundled with some plans, however... but not unlimited.

The grandfathered plans are pre-Verizon.
