I have to use it for business purposes and loosing potential clients, because for some reason I have not been receiving their messages. They say they have been sending me a lot, but nothing is coming in. I asked facebook for some help, but I don't know if they have sent me any messages either since they have not been arriving.
I can receive messages from my close friends that are on my friends list, but not anyone else such as clients, even though they say they have been messaging me.
I did some googling and lots of sights say you have to click on the 'other' box, which is next to the 'inbox'. Well the thing about that is, is that I have no 'other' box.
I live in Canada so maybe that makes a difference as my facebook does look different, than the examples that are shown to me on google. So maybe it's a Canadian thing?
Does anyone know how to solve this problem if there is no 'other'?
They ditched the Other folder in favor of Message requests, it should be next to Recent messages.
Inside of it you can also check the "Filtered requests"
I think Facebook's support takes some time to get back to users as they don't have that many people employed for assistance.
Okay thanks. But no messages are in there, and I keep being told they are sent to me. It is true, I got two messages for the day. I read it, turned off my computer and went to work. When I came back, the messages were gone.
Any idea there where they could be if not in the 'message requests'?
Also in the messages I will do a search for the people's names who have sent me messages before going to work. The search will say "no people or conversations with (name). But that's impossible cause I just read the messages from both of those people 10 hours ago. So where could it be, if that's the case?
When you accept a message request the chat window moves to the normal "Recent messages" inbox.
If not, check these other options (If you haven't already)
My Facebook is in Spanish but the possition of stuff should be the same for your profile (Hopefully!).
The last option, which would translate as "Archived" or some similar word, would be your best bet.
If they're not there either, then I have no clue about where your messages are going to.
(The void, probably.)
Okay thanks. It's not any of those though, and it has not made it's way back to the regular inbox, after I click on message requests.
I am not sure what is going on. But thanks for your input.
