Gamer Help
I have been playing Pogo.com games for years. Matter of fact all was fine until this morning. When I try to open I get redirected to an "AOL search" and get a message that firewall could be in place and to click on "Fix Pogo Backdoor via Optomize your PC.com.
Is this safe and why after all this time would it occur?
I'm technically challenged-LOL. Thx.

I have never visited Pogo before, but I just tried it and it seems to work for me. There is no AOL search when I try it. Perhaps you've downloaded some sort of trojan horse that is causing your computer to be redirected when you try to visit the site. I would not consider that link to be safe, so I wouldn't try it if I were you.
Do you have antivirus software, and is it up to date? If not, updating it should be your first priority. You might also want to clear the cache on your web browser and get a fresh start with it. Hopefully doing one of those two things should eliminate your problem.
There is a possibility that the link is a valid one, and that you would be fine using it. I am not familiar enough with that to tell you for sure, one way or the other. Perhaps someone else on this forum can do so.

Don't use the optimize your computer thing. I agree, something has probably downloaded itself to your computer.
I use a couple different programs to sweep my computer,
Ad-Aware @ Lavasoft - The Original Anti-Spyware Company - Lavasoft
spybot search and destroy
and at the moment I am trying out
Threatfire which seems pretty good so far.

The link may be valid, except it probably won't remove the original spyware. Its a known sneaky ploy by 3rd rate ad-ware removal software. they load it, provide a link to their service, and then
OP: Use Lavasoft adaware as lindsey posted, and get antivirus.
my recommendation is Avast Antivirus. Its free and good.
avast! antivirus software - computer virus, worm and Trojan protection by ALWIL Software
