To start off the security/privacy debate this is sure to raise:

"But security experts say it wouldn't be hard to take that next step and get the name and address." (from above link)

Not only is it difficult to go from IP address to individual user, because just about everyone has a dynamic IP (every time you turn your computer on, it grabs a new IP address). If I was tracking you down, I'd still have to go through your company to determine the exact location of your computer. And they're less than enthused about handing out consumer info.

And secondly, everyone needs to be aware that anything you do on the web is pretty much public knowledge and that being secure is really not going to happen.

That being said, I want to know when/if I'm being googled. I google myself occasionally and I like being at top
