Ugh.... "official-looking" email from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custo...odeId=15835501
https://isc.sans.edu/forums/diary/Re...rmations/8344/

https://www.bradsdeals.com/blog/bewa...malware-attack

There is a plethora of info about scams online. People, please use Google search and get informed...

NOW, this morning & this has never happened before either, but I get a very official-looking email from Amazon (which I do order from) that was an order confirmation email for $126. I didn't click on anything of course in the email. It had gone straight to my SPAM folder.

I called Amazon & they were able to look up the last email they sent me & it wasn't this email, so they sent me an email to attach the SPAM one to stop-spoofing@amazon.com. I had also checked my credit & debit cards to make sure $126 wasn't charged to any of my accounts, which it wasn't.
This is why they keep doing it. Because people fall for it. If it was in your SPAM folder - that should be the number one clue that it wasn't legit. Are there false positives? Sure. But I think a lot of the stress/frustration is also self induced.
