Very little spam at all through gmail anyway though. I absolutely hated hotmail, however. I received tons of spam and it became a problem to even identify what was legitimate.
I've had a Hotmail account for about 2 years and get very little spam, mostly from Hotmail and Microsoft (same-same)! The best email account I have is my Yahoo Mail Plus account ($19.95 per year), I've rarely had spam in my Inbox, excellent spam filtering! Yahoo also has "block" and "allow" lists, not so with Hotmail or Gmail.

Try posting your Yahoo Plus address and your Gmail address out in the open somewhere on the web where scrapers harvesting addresses for spam purposes can find it. You'll discover quickly that Gmail has the better filters.
