I downloaded it and started messing around with it. So far, much faster loading than Firefox. Anyone else running it through it's paces?

Google Chrome

Interestingly, I couldn't insert the above link using Chrome.

I'm gonna stick with Firefox for the time being, for two reasons. First, I don't care for playing with "version 1" of anything anymore - I've found that in my old age ( ), I like having a stable system with software that "just works". Second, Google is the new Microsoft - they have aspirations of world domination that I'm just not comfortable supporting... I still use their engine, adsense, adwords... but that's about it.

The browser tabs are a little too close to the top of the screen for my taste, but I like the speed. Not surprisingly, I've found that it seems to be particularly fast on pages hosted by Google. Since I use hosted Gmail and Google Docs, having those sites be fast is very helpful.

Yes sir.

it craps on firefox in speed no doubt.

I'm using it at this very moment since i downloaded it yesterday, and it's 50 times faster than any browser i've used.

last night i was downloading a 800MB movie while browsing and the downloading didn't slow down nor did the browsing speed, which also left me shocked.

It takes lesser space (30K) of memory, firefox takes 200K.

at this very moment firefox still reigns supreme but in the future google chrome will take it, google is serious, they don't play games.

Exactly my own thoughts!

I did pass on the link to my teens who are jumping right on it.

Well, I've been trying out Beta versions for 25 years, so why stop now. I got Chrome today. It is fast, but I'm just old fashioned enough that I want my menu back; you know: File, Edit, View Tools Help. I can't find out out to put it on the top of the display. Also , it said it would import everything from Firefox, but it didn't get all the names and passwords. I think I'm going to like some features, especially how fast it will open a new tab.

I only do tabs for special reasons. Maybe I'm a little old fashioned and prefer the "right-click, new window" method. I don't see anything special about tabs. I do like it for my online DictionarySearch 3.0.0.

I downloaded it last night and the little I have played with it, I kind of like it. I am not familiar with all the gizmonics yet and I haven't noticed any over all speed up of page loading. Some pages do load faster while others do not. (accu-weather for instance)

Look forward to reading what others have found. I will say this though, it is lightweight and faster than IE. Now, how long until the Linux version is released?
