If you're into financials, Bloomberg TV is live --> Bloomberg.com.

YOu can go to the different networks and see a good selection of TV shows on there.

I also use a utility called BitTorrent, once you download that, then go to isoHunt - the BitTorrent and P2P search engine, you can download alot of TV shows from there and movies as well. I like to download stuff that shows on pay channels like HBO and Showtime.

When I used a desk top, I had a tuner card for it and I could have plugged in my Directv to it.

What I would really like to have is the Slingbox. You use it with your Directv, you sign on to the site and you can watch YOUR Directv programming no matter where you are. I love technology.

Check out the TVU player. I've only used it a couple of times, but seems decent. You'll need a decent connection tho.

I've personally used Hulu and downloaded shows like Lindsay suggested. For a fee, you can watch stuff instantly on Netflix. We've enjoyed that in the past. Movies, TV shows, etc. Pretty cheap considering.
