Just saw the GMail smilies today... wasn't there yesterday afternoon, so guess they got released sometime inbetween. At least in my email.

Well, I just wanted to say- I don't like 'em. No, no, no... I'm one for the good old smilies... like the ones on city-data, and yahoo...

What does everybody else think?

I have G mail as my primary E-mail browser, but it's nothing special. Just checking my E-mail and writing to friends and family members, hardly ever use those emoticons.

Wishing I had more smilies is not a thought that has ever crossed my mind in over 10 years of using email. Surely there were better uses for the engineering effort that went into that feature.

BTW, if you like to be the first on the block to know about new Gmail features, you should read the official Gmail blog.

They're different, and I like stuff that's different.

I rarely use similies in email in the first place, so I haven't really paid much attention to them.

I only use web access for Gmail when away from my computer. 90% of my access is via POP interface with Outlook.
