It's actually 2.5 cents per minute for Onesuite if you use a local access number for their prepaid phone card service. Same rate for their voip service calling withi US, cheaper in some international destination. Pay as you go works for most people who doesn't make too many long distance calls

20 percent is big if you ask me.
I would be more concerned if Vonage had a pattern of price increases like TV providers. This is the first price increase for their base package that I can remember and we've been customers for almost 5 years (May '04).

That is what they are counting on.

I have the 500 minute service too, been using it since 04, they have been piling on more taxes since then.

Yes maybe you got a point there but I think the timing is just wrong because of the recession. Also rates for long distance are going down for the past few years. I still remember the rate for calling India a few years back with my Onesuite account is almost 20 cents per minute. Now its down to 8 cents. This is also true for most providers.

Default Bye Bye Vonage

My 06 montly Vonage bill started at $16.49/mo. Now it has risen to almost $27 / mo and it will increase another $2 dollars in fees as of 4-23-21. the good new is my new Ooma system is up and running and I only have another week until my number is ported to Ooma. After a year, my upfront cost of $180 plus $40 porting fee will be offset by the low annual fee of $12.99 fed tax. Just hope that Ooma will not skyrocket like Vonage. Since I can expect to pay $360/year to Vonage for a 500 minute plan I only need 1 year to be ahead of the game. By the way the the Ooma call quality blows away Vonage. Bye Bye
