I have FF3 on one of my computers but not on my primary one. I always test new versions on a less-used machine first, just in case. My main complaint with new FF versions is that so many of my favorite extensions don't work right away. FF3 is no different. As soon as I can get all my extensions to work with FF3, I'll upgrade my other computers.

lol, I just now checked, and FF on my MacBook upon restart yesterday automatically went to 3.0 ... hmmmmm, seems kinda MS-variety of sinister if ya ask me!

btw, haven't noticed that much of speed increase yet.

Not sinister, it's a setting that you can change. Go to Tools ->Options. Click on the Advanced button then the Update tab. Where it says, "When updates to Firefox are found:" choose Ask me what I want to do

I am not sure how different it is from FF 2, since I never had FF 2. I can tell you that moving from IE to FF 3 is amazing! It's faster and has less hiccups!
